In the communities in which I work, drug use and addiction is a widespread problem. I have been interested for a long time in what role herbal medicine can play in supporting people who are withdrawing from drug use, and to that end I went and spent a week in Dublin at Sankalpa, a wonderful holistic addiction rehabilitation centre. Following that experience, I wrote an essay for my University Degree and its now been published in our student magazine. It is sadly rather academic, but hopefully still interesting.
