This month sees us coming to the end of our 2021 Wild Things courses and reflecting on the wonderful walks and classroom sessions we’ve had through the year of wild food and medicine.

We were lucky enough to run 3 different in-person Wild Things groups: Wild Things 1 in Edinburgh and Glasgow and Wild Things 2 in Edinburgh as well as offering both courses online to people not able to make the in-person sessions. Wild Things 2 in particular has helped us all to explore our foraging skills and to bring in people as guest tutors who have expertise in areas we’re less familiar with. The pictures above are of our very sunny coastal walk in North Berwick with Greg Kenicker of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh. Greg introduced us to many native sea vegetables and ensured that we could tell our Bladder Wrack from our Channelled Wrack or Twisted Wrack. We also tried some very sweet Sugar Kelp. We’ll be posting again soon about our upcoming fungi walk with Monica Wilde.
