As we think of Mabon, the week of rest after the harvests (21st – 29th September 2021), we’ve been thinking about the people we’ve shared our harvests with this year.

In August, Rose from the charity EcoArt came to gather some of the medicinal plants at Blackford Glen Medicine Garden to use for dying projects. In the picture she is holding the bountiful Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and picking some St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perfoliatum) which we infused in oil to extract the distinctive bright red pigment.

EcoArt is a grassroots charity connecting community, art & sustainability, they creatively explore ways of reconnecting with the more than human world, seeking ways of opening up opportunities for human & planet flourishing based on systems driven by values other than profit. Check out their website for art projects & workshops to see how you can get involved.
