ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON THE PRACITCAL TRAINING FUND – FROM DECEMBER 2025
If you’ve applied for similar funding in the past, there are new criteria from 2025. Please read on to see if you might be eligible or interested in applying.
What is the Fund?
£500 funding towards training relevant to the rural agriculture sector in Scotland
The funders have changed their priorities and are now only funding people who have started work recently (within 5 years) or plan to work in the near future in rural agriculture.
The funders have been clear that it is up to applicants to make their case that the course is relevant to paid work that they currently do or intend to do in the rural agriculture sector.
- The funding panel will meet monthly to consider applications which are generally made before someone books on the course.
The fund specifically does not cover – FAQs here:
Courses relating to market gardens, hobbyist horticulture or conservation where the ambition of the applicant is not to work in the rural agricultural sector
