Have you ever thoughts about growing or using medicinal and edible herbs but don’t have space or know where to start? Grass Roots Remedies Co-operative has two growing spaces in Edinburgh where you can learn to grow, tend and harvest medicineal plants either at Blackford Glen or Lauriston Farm. We are also involved with the herbal teaching allotment in the Southside of Glasgow – you can read more here

On the South side of Edinburgh, monthly on Tuesday evenings, you can join Soraya in our allotment sized Blackford Glen Medicine Garden. Over the summer months we will be mostly harvesting & weeding, and as we move towards the autumn we will be potting up plants to move to our other growing spaces.

Upcoming Blackford Glen Medicine Garden Sessions Summer – Autumn 2024:

  • Tuesday July 30th 5-8pm

In North Edinburgh, at Lauriston Farm you can join Soraya and Ally for monthly Friday sessions. At the moment we are tending to our herbal seedlings and tiny trees, through the season we’ll continue to tend the herbs and appreciate Summer blooms, before harvesting and making remedies in late Summer and Autumn.
