Do you want to learn about growing, tending, foraging and harvesting plants to use as medicine?

Do you want to learn in a relaxed, friendly environment with people of different backgrounds and growing knowledge and skills?

We have opportunities in Edinburgh and Glasgow for people to learn with us about the beautiful, bountiful wild plants that grow all around us and also to find out about tending plants that we are growing specifically for their medicinal properties. At all of our growing spaces, we encourage people to share their skills and knowledge and collaborate on the ongoing projects.

The plants that we gather and grow are both shared with volunteers and used to make medicines for our Wester Hailes low cost community clinic – providing herbal medicine consultations to people in the area on a sliding scale basis. You can find out more about our community work in Wester Hailes in this video

For volunteering in South Edinburgh, contact Soraya on soraya@grassrootsremedies.co.uk for volunteering in Glasgow, contact Ju on plot26garden@gmail.com

If you’re not able to make it to our in-person sessions – we have lots of free online resources about growing and foraging medicinal plants, including our Herb Profiles and our Early Summer Foraging Guide If you have the funds and would like to support our work financially, we also have an online Kitchen Herbal Medicine Course and we’ll be opening bookings for our seasonal Wild Things course in Autumn 2023 – details of last year’s course are here to give you a bit of a taster.
